3D Hard Surface Concept Design Class - Gurmukh Bhasin

This 3D Concept Design Class is perfect for those looking to learn how to bring their ideas to "digital" life.  We will be using mostly Moment of Inspiration to quickly create our own hard surface designs.  We will be discussing the entire process from start to finish.  Starting with the research phase, getting things going in 3D, creating the design, rendering and making the final images.  

The following software is REQUIRED to participate in the class.  

1.  Moment of Inspiration (MOI3D - http://moi3d.com/purchase.htm)(Price is $295.00)

2. Maya or similar Polygon modeling software that you are comfortable with. (Student version is free)

3. Keyshot 10 (student cost is $95.00/month but you need a student ID to get it for that cost. https://buy.keyshot.com/products/keyshot10-for-education)(If you don't have a student id we can discuss different ways to get access to Keyshot 10 for the duration of this class)

4. Photoshop

Moi3D is a fairly easy to use software and quite fun to use.  I recommend having a little 3D modeling experience in any 3D modeling software, but if you are fairly new to 3D you will be just fine.  I will teach you how to use the software to create your own original ideas.  We use Maya or similar modeling tools mostly as a home base for bringing all our different Moi3D designs together and setting up our scene to send to Keyshot to render, but we won't be doing too much 3D modeling in Maya or a similar program.  You will just need to get used to a few simple things in those software's.  Keyshot is also pretty simple to use with beautiful results and I will be teaching you how to use this software.  Lastly we will be using photoshop to finish off our renders and get our projects ready to share with the world.  I will show you how to composite your render passes together to add life to the final images and make them exciting to show your design off with.  

For this term we will be starting the first week of February.  For those in the USA we will be meeting Monday evening at 7:00pm PST.  Those in other parts of the world I will add a second class during the week that works best with the schedule of all who sign up.  Once I get a head count of everyone I will send out a survey to see which class time is best.  If for some reason the two class times (Monday 7:00pm or another time to be determined) don't work out for you, I will give you a full refund before the term starts.  Once the term starts there won't be any refunds.  

There will be 4 pre recorded vides provided throughout the term.  You will get one week 01, week 02, week 03 and week 04.  Each class will be half live demo and half reviewing student work.  Depending on how many students sign up classes will be 2-3 hours each week.  You will not receive anything to download until week 01 of the class in the first week of February.  Purchasing this class reserves a spot for the term.
